Ahh, the memories...

We just got back from a quick trip to the side of the duplex we used to live in. There was something wrong with something...zzzz.... so Hal had to fix it.

Anyway, it's the first time I've had a chance to go in since the new resident moved in. It's so interesting to see how someone else has decorated and arranged furniture in a place you once lived for nearly 10 years. People have such different styles. I'm certain that when I had the former owner of our current house over to pick up some mail, she thought the same thing--aside from the fact we still didnt even have living room furniture at that time.

I certainly dont regret the move AT ALL!!! We love living in our old, Victorian, single-family home on a quiet street. It's so fascinating seeing the former place with someone else's things though.

Have any of you ever been back in a house you once lived in while someone else was living there?

I've never seen the inside of places I've lived after leaving, but I've ALWAYS wanted to. I've actually dreamed about going into my old homes many times over the years.

Hey Girl! Nice story. I'm sure it did bring back a lot of memories. Puff.

I have returned back to several houses I've lived in, and some that I visited a lot as a child. The thing that strikes me the most is how much smaller everything looks compared to how I saw it as a kid. I got the same feeling when I revisited my junior high after being a big, grown-up, high schooler for a few years!

Have a great day. Smoochies.

OMG Casey. Uh, yes. Really, I don't feel like I can go into it. The house in Pennsylvania I grew up in, that the Fogle family had since the early 1900s. After she had gone into the nursing home, my grandmother I drove past it once. Silence. A kind of bitter resignation. A turning away.

But ... in a case like yours, I'll bet it's interesting and fun to go back. You are so happy being in that new (and lovely) house. You should be!
