Holiday Update

It's been a while since I've blogged... and I'm still feeling bad about not being more regular about it... but it's been a busy end of the year. The new job position has been challenging... and having the travel part of it my 2nd week was even more stress...

LUCKILY!!!! The 2nd week was SOOOOOOOO much better than the first. My trainee's in Fort Worth, TX were so nice. They even gave me a card and would love for me to come back.

Anyway, the journey home was crazy... it was a holiday weekend in one of the busiest airports in the US (DFW)... I finally got home around 11pm Friday night... went to a hockey game on Saturday... and to East TN on Sunday for Christmas.

I love seeing my family around the holiday... but had to leave on Tuesday (Christmas evening).

I was sooo glad to chill on Wednesday... I had a crazy pile of laundry from too much time away. I initially planned a shopping day... but was so exhausted... I stayed home all day and was domestic (another thing I dislike)...

Wow... this post is dragging on... I'll post more later... but... there's been crazier things that happened last week...and there is a crapload of Buenos Aires pics/video's that I havent shown...

I hope y'all forgive me! Please stay tuned!!!!

An apology & more

Hey, y'all... so sorry I've been bad about posting new blogs recently. I've been really busy and havent really taken time to blog... frig... this is the first year in about 6 that I didnt even get around to sending Christmas Cards... I feel horrible.

Anyway, I'm in Fort Worth, TX this week for work. Hopefully I will have a better week than last week and have time to blog...

I did read about a website that is going to be a new favorite for me though & thought I would share it with all of you. It's hilarious... this guy takes photos of regular people...and morphs/photoshops celebrity faces on there...

Circle of Yum Yum Yum

So we went to Radius 10 last night for a celebratory dinner with our friends Casey & Shane... She just accepted a new job, ergo the celebration.

I've been interested in trying this restaurant for some time. It's in a very hip part of Nashville, The Gulch. It's basically downtown and there are a lot of condo developments and restaurants there (we went to Watermark there for my birthday). It's an area I'd seriously consider living in if I wanted a condo... although I'd probably prefer to be right in the downtown core.

Anyway... on to the food... they came out with a complimentary amuse bouche of salmon & meditteranean dressing/something or other. I'm not crazy about salmon and didnt love it, but Hal did.

For the first course, I chose a Kobe Beef Short Rib on a bed of black truffle grits. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. So freaking good I couldve had several of those as my entree... C&S had a calamari appetizer... I'm not a fan of that... apparently it was good though... but the conclusion amongst the table was that my dish was the best.

On to the main course... I had a special dish for the night, Veal Chops. Someone else had a veggie dish (fennel & leek something). Another had beef filet & Hal had Salmon of some sort.

My Veal was to die for... it was so tender & delicious. The only drawback was the bed of sweet potato cake/something that it was on top of. I didnt really like that, but the Veal was slap yo mama good. Everyone also agreed that my entree was the best.

For dessert, Hal & I chose a banana souflee while C&S opted for some yummy ice cream. The banana souflee was also divine.

So bottom line was that the restaurant was a very nice, hip, energetic, well-designed space. I really enjoyed my food also and will definitely return. I just hope that when I do go back, they have the Veal again.

More Argentina posts coming at some point...

Again, so sorry that my postings about Argentina have been slow in posting here... We have some finished, but when uploaded to Youtube... the quality is so crappy that I dont even want to post it... so we are researching how to improve the quality...

Bottom Line: I'll have more Buenos Aires posts as soon as we figure out the kinks.

Anyway, TGIF, y'all!!! I'm excited about the weekend. Tonight we are going out to dinner at a trendy restaurant in the Gulch area of Nashville with some friends. I've been anxious to try this restaurant for a while... it's received great reviews. So tonight is the night!

Last night, we went to a party that Hal's company does for their clients... it's an open bar at a country club... so it doesnt take much convincing to get me in the door!

Tomorrow night is his company dinner for their office staff & significant others... it's a small group and is always fun.

I'm getting anxious about next week, y'all! On Monday, I start delivering my first customer training session in Nashville... I've been in this position for 2 months, but have just been observing others to get a feel for how to approach the trainings. I'm ready to get the first one out of the way to be honest.

The following week, I'm headed to Fort Worth, TX to deliver a training to a group of clients. I'm looking forward to that actually b/c I want to go shopping in Dallas... who knows, maybe I'll do a talky while I'm there!!! Stay tuned.

A special day in history...

Today is a special day!!! It's the birthday of one of my favorite people in the world & very entertaining blogger, Josh (Whitney if you are in the know).

I met Josh when he briefly lived in Nashville several years ago...and we've kept in touch even though it seems like he has moved 80 times (Florida, LA, Chicago, San Francisco & now Philly)... Getting to see him once or so a year is always a fun time that I look forward to.

Live it up today, Whit!

Love ya,
Mimi

(Ps... sorry this birthday shout out doesnt even compare to the clip you made for my birthday)
